Assistant Team Lead - Marketing

Key Responsibilities

1) Market Development & Sales

• Identify  Commercial & Industrial  consumers (HT Industrial – Manufacturing companies like cement, steel, pharma, etc.) for Open Access  (STOA/MTOA/LTOA), Wheeling & Third-Party Sale.
• Identifying SEZ Customer for Sales from our SEZ unit.
• Structure commercials including tariff benchmarking with competition, OA charges estimation (transmission, wheeling, SLDC, CSS, AS, losses), and savings models.

2) Commercial Structuring & Proposals

• Prepare business cases and techno-commercial proposals with price options (fixed), and scheduling strategy, minimum offtake, penalties, and credit terms.
• Draft/Review PPAs, and scheduling authorizations; coordinate with legal/commercial for contract execution.

3) Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Electricity Act, CERC/SERC OA Regulations, SLDC procedures, Deviation Settlement Mechanism (DSM), forecasting & scheduling norms, RPO/REC where applicable.
• Track and interpret regulatory changes (Cross Subsidy Surcharge, Additional Surcharge, OA eligibility thresholds, Green OA rules) and update pricing sheets accordingly.
• Liaise with SLDCs, STUs, DISCOMs, and Load Despatch centers for OA & wheeling approvals, NOCs, and operational requirements.

4) Scheduling, Operations & Settlement

• Work with internal operations/SCADA teams for forecasting, day-ahead/real-time bidding & scheduling, revisions, and open position management.
• Ensure timely meter data (ABT/MRI), energy accounting, invoicing, and reconciliations (including DSM, UI, deviation charges).
• Monitor performance (actual vs scheduled), losses and curtailments, customer savings vs baseline, and execute corrective actions.

5.) Legal/Other Responsibilities

• Assisting the legal team in matters pertaining to Differential Wheeling Charges, Grid Support Charges (GSC) & Cross Subsidy Surcharge (CSS) among others.

• Assisting the Finance team in preparation of LC, Bank Guarantee & Corporate Guarantee on need basis.

Study of Renewables viz.., Solar, Wind, Hybrid Power Plants and its respective policies, acts and regulations.

Candidate Profile

• Hands-on with Commercial & Industrial customer acquisition, SLDC/DISCOMs/APTransco coordination, OA approvals, exchange trading, scheduling, and invoicing/settlements.
• Strong command of OA charges (transmission/wheeling losses, CSS, AS, SLDC, RPO/REC, banking), and state-specific OA rules.

Technical/Functional Skills

• Power exchange operations.
• Knowledge of  Power markets ( DAM, RTM, GDAM, GTAM, HP-DAM).
• OA routes: STOA, MTOA, LTOA, Captive/Group Captive.
• Wheeling & Third-Party Sale.
• Forecasting & scheduling basics, DSM exposure, Understanding of energy accounting and meter data.
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint for client proposals is a plus.

Behavioral Skills

• Commercial acumen, negotiation, stakeholder management (customers, SLDC/DISCOM/STU).
• Execution ownership under tight timelines.
• Strong written & verbal communication.
