Job Overview : The Assistant Manager – Stores is responsible for managing day-to-day stores operations, inventory control, material receipt and issue, stock optimization, SAP transactions, and compliance activities to ensure efficient material management and uninterrupted plant operations.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Supervise and control all stores operations, including receipt, storage, issue, and dispatch of materials.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of all inventory transactions in SAP.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimum stock through effective Reorder Level (ROL) management.
- Ensure proper maintenance of stores records, bin cards, stock registers, and inventory documentation.
- Coordinate receipt, unloading, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials as per company procedures.
- Verify material receipts for quantity and quality discrepancies and coordinate with concerned departments for resolution.
- Conduct periodic inventory verification, cycle counts, and annual stock audits.
- Monitor and control Slow-Moving, Non-Moving, and Obsolete Inventory (FSN Analysis) and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage returnable materials sent for repair, replacement, testing, or calibration and ensure timely reconciliation.
- Control and monitor shelf-life items to prevent material deterioration and expiry.
- Ensure timely preparation and issuance of material gate passes and related documentation.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Production, Maintenance, and other departments for smooth material flow.
- Handle internal audits, external audits, ISO documentation, and statutory compliance requirements related to stores operations.
- Implement and sustain 5S practices and ensure adherence to safety standards within the stores area.
- Lead, train, and guide stores personnel to improve operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
- Generate MIS reports and inventory analysis reports for management review and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for inventory optimization, cost reduction, and process improvements.
Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree (B.Com/B.Sc./BBA or equivalent) with PG Diploma/Diploma in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or related discipline.
Experience : 8-10 Yrs.
