Yard Person reports directly to the Technical Lead and is responsible for the safe and proper operation of industrial vehicles and for the proper care and maintenance of these equipment, general housekeeping of plant property and premises and safe operation of vacuum truck and industrial power washer. 

Duties & Responsibilities 
•    Ensure the ALL areas of the plant and other areas of the yard are kept clean and free of debris, at times using an industrial power washer and vacuum truck.
•    Clean up oil spills and work areas using appropriate PPE.
•    Properly handle and maintain inventory of waste material.
•    Keep clean and maintain general exterior yard and areas and plant premises including but not limited to:
1.    Litter and debris removal.
2.    Emptying of waste bins
•    Maintain areas by cutting grass and removing weeks through mechanical and manually as requested and snow removal using snowplow, snow blower and shoveling.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands of a Yard Person are essential to the performance of this job. Any change in these demands would fundamentally change the job. The physical demands require that the Yard Person be able to do the following:

1.    Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, often in wet, slick, and/or uneven terrain and surfaces.
2.    Must be capable of lifting, carrying, and/or toting up to 50 lbs.
3.    Must be able to bend. Stoop, squat/crouch, push/pull, climb, kneel, and twist.
4.    Must be able to work both inside and outside, in the heat and cold, and around moving equipment.
5.    Must be able to manipulate all industrial vehicles controls safely and accurately by pushing, pulling, squeezing, and turning levers, knobs, buttons, and wheels.

RESTRICTIONS:

The following restrictions apply to the Yard Person position:

1.    Must be able to use various tools and equipment in a safe manner to perform the job functions. These include but are not limited to broom, mop, pick, shovel, garden hoe, sledgehammer, rubber hammer, air hammer, and other various hand and power tools as needed.
2.    Must be at least (18) year of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
3.    Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
4.    Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent desired.

SKILLS:

1.    Yard Person should be dependable and act in a professional manner with customers and fellow employees.
2.    Yard Person should possess a positive attitude and a level of determination to successfully complete the tasks and assignments without supervision.
3.    Yard Person should be a self-starter and motivated to learn.
